Originally constructed as a gathering spot for the Girl Scouts, the building has since become a shared space for the community. Over time, the Boy Scouts, who once met at the Baptist and St. Julia&#8217;s Churches, also made the Scout House their home. Today, it stands as a testament to the town&#8217;s commitment to scouting, community, and tradition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Step into a place full of warmth, adventure, and endless possibilities. Our spacious main meeting room features a charming lodge-style design, complete with a rustic stone fireplace and inviting wooden walls\u2014perfect for gathering and making memories. The main floor also offers a modest kitchen and two simple yet functional bathrooms, ensuring everything you need is at your fingertips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Venture down to the lower level, where you&#8217;ll discover three cozy meeting rooms, each equipped with storage cabinets and built-in benches for comfort and convenience. It was Dr. Joseph E. Perry, a retired Baptist minister residing in Brookline and one of Weston\u2019s most popular clergymen of all times, that started a troop.&nbsp; The troop met at the First Baptist Church.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cp-timeline-content-timeline-child swiper-slide\"><div class=\"timeline-content icon-false \"><div class=\"timeline-block-timeline ctl-row  position-left\"><div class=\"ctl-6 timeline-block-time\"><div class=\"story-time\"><p>1918<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"timeline-block-icon\"><svg stroke=\"currentColor\" fill=\"currentColor\" stroke-width=\"0\" viewBox=\"0 0 512 512\" height=\"1em\" width=\"1em\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\"><path d=\"M256 8C119 8 8 119 8 256s111 248 248 248 248-111 248-248S393 8 256 8z\"><\/path><\/svg><\/div><div class=\"ctl-6 timeline-block-detail\"><div class=\"story-details\"><div class=\"story-content\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center ctlb-block-title\" style=\"padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px;padding-bottom:0px;padding-left:0px\">1st Weston Girl Scout Troop in Weston<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ctlb-block-desc\" style=\"padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px;padding-bottom:0px;padding-left:0px\">The first&nbsp;Weston Girl Scout Troop was formed when eight girls approached Miss Helen Roberts and Miss Edith Perry. Storrow, a committee was organized, and the Girl Scout charter was granted. This club was responsible for raising most of the money for the kitchen equipment at the Scout House.&nbsp; This club was abandoned during World War II.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cp-timeline-content-timeline-child swiper-slide\"><div class=\"timeline-content icon-false \"><div class=\"timeline-block-timeline ctl-row  position-right\"><div class=\"ctl-6 timeline-block-time\"><div class=\"story-time\"><p>1938<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"timeline-block-icon\"><svg stroke=\"currentColor\" fill=\"currentColor\" stroke-width=\"0\" viewBox=\"0 0 512 512\" height=\"1em\" width=\"1em\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\"><path d=\"M256 8C119 8 8 119 8 256s111 248 248 248 248-111 248-248S393 8 256 8z\"><\/path><\/svg><\/div><div class=\"ctl-6 timeline-block-detail\"><div class=\"story-details\"><div class=\"story-content\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center ctlb-block-title\" style=\"padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px;padding-bottom:0px;padding-left:0px\">Case Donated Acreage for House<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ctlb-block-desc\" style=\"padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px;padding-bottom:0px;padding-left:0px\">Miss Louisa Case gave an acre of land between School Street and Wellesley Street for the building of a house whose purpose was to provide a suitable headquarters in support of scouting activities specifically to the Weston Girl Scouts. A committee was formed by Mrs. Kellogg, Mrs. Bidwell and Mr. William Dewey to raise money to build and maintain a Girl Scout House. Mrs. Kellogg edited the plans for the house; this was the design that was built and remains today. The first project to raise money was a cookbook called, \u201cTreasured Recipes of Weston\u201d and one thousand copies were sold.&nbsp; By this time there were over one hundred active Girl Scouts in town.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cp-timeline-content-timeline-child swiper-slide\"><div class=\"timeline-content icon-false \"><div class=\"timeline-block-timeline ctl-row  position-left\"><div class=\"ctl-6 timeline-block-time\"><div class=\"story-time\"><p>April 17, 1938<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"timeline-block-icon\"><svg stroke=\"currentColor\" fill=\"currentColor\" stroke-width=\"0\" viewBox=\"0 0 512 512\" height=\"1em\" width=\"1em\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\"><path d=\"M256 8C119 8 8 119 8 256s111 248 248 248 248-111 248-248S393 8 256 8z\"><\/path><\/svg><\/div><div class=\"ctl-6 timeline-block-detail\"><div class=\"story-details\"><div class=\"story-content\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center ctlb-block-title\" style=\"padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px;padding-bottom:0px;padding-left:0px\">Weston Scout House Charter<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ctlb-block-desc\" style=\"padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px;padding-bottom:0px;padding-left:0px\">A charter was granted and a corporation, Weston Scouts, Inc. was formed with Mr. Harold \u201cRed\u201d Travis as President.&nbsp; The purpose of Weston Scouts, Inc. was to find ways to support Weston Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts along with overseeing the maintenance of the Girl Scout House.&nbsp;A board of no less than 9 and no more than 15 Trustees was established for this purpose and a set of by-laws guides this group of Trustees.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Weston Scout House, built in 1941, is a historical gem nestled next to Case Park, just across the street from the town&#8217;s newly renovated library and the local elementary schools.
